"The ministry of Deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of compassion, witness, and  service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick,  the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by

unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress." Book of Order (G-2.0201)

 

Our Deacons carry out their ministry by visiting those isolated by age or illness, participating in the community help ministry, "Neighbors in Christ," administrating the "Deacon Fund," serving communion and in other acts of compassion and concern.

 

Current Deacons: Bob Kovanic, Ray Heckman, Sally Ann McCrea, Dee denHartog, Sarah Cunningham, and Donna Weir.

Sally Ann McCrea is the Moderator of the Deacons. As such she facilitates their meetings and provides leadership to the board.
