Do not fear what the world fears, but in your heart set apart Christ as Lord.

Always be prepared to give an answer (both in word and deed) to everyone who asks you

to give the reason for the hope that you have.

Always doing this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience,

so that those who would speak against the faith you profess

would not be given a reason to do so. (1 Peter 3:14-17)
